Melvin E. Edwards is an author, journalist, podcaster, and founder of Media Well Done, LLC. A sixth-generation Texan and award-winning former newspaper reporter and columnist, Edwards began his career covering Texas high school football before moving into public affairs and speechwriting for the Lieutenant Governor and Governor of Texas.
His work is rooted in history, memory, moral responsibility, and the lived stories of ordinary people. He is the author of Nuremberg, Mississippi and host of Stories from Real Life, an interview podcast built around personal stories with broader human meaning.
Edwards has also written award-winning books tracing his family’s Texas lineage back to the Republic of Texas era, a body of work that helped establish him as one of the pioneering African-American members of the Sons of the Republic of Texas.
